Every time you dare to do new things, a part of you awakens, this happens with practically everything; work, relationships, travel and hobbies. If you remember my blog “how I learned to swim' you know that I like to share tips that encourage you to go out and discover the world on your own.
That’s why today I’m going to tell you about my experience at Xenses Park, a curious world where you will feel and live unique experiences through your senses. This park is in the Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen to be more exact, right between the parks Xcaret and Xplor.
If you still don’t know what Xenses is about, I will tell you more about it so you can plan your next visit the right way. This place is good to visit, even if you are on a tight schedule, since the circuits that make up the tour can be done in five hours. There are two schedules available for you to choose, in the morning the entrance is from 8:30 a.m and 10:00 a.m. and the departure between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. In the afternoon the entrance is at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and the departure between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
At Xenses you will find activities to relax; like a river of mud called Sludgerie, if you like adventure you will also find an exciting slide, as well as optical illusions and amazing attractions. My favorite experience will always be the Xensatorium, which is an activity where you will discover how amazing your senses are, but I’m not going to tell you more to not ruin all the fun for you.
Visiting Xenses was just a lot of fun overall, so I’ll share some tips that were useful for me on that day:
First, remember that there are many photo points inside the park that will allow you to take home super crazy photos just by scanning your bracelet. But if you want to capture them with your own style, you need to know that selfies sticks are not allowed for safety purposes and if you want to use your phone, you must put it in a waterproof bag.
I used my GoPro with a hand strap, so I captured all my adventures including Bird Flight; a horizontal zip-line where you will glide like a bird, as well as the exciting slide activity called Slip. These accessories along with the head or body straps are allowed in the park.
Before starting with your adventure locate the map next to the entrance of the locker room so you can locate each attraction within the park, that way you do not get lost. In this map you can also find the information of each circuit so that you can decide where to start.
My recommendation is that you start your tour of Xenses in the Xensatorium circuit, which is where you will get the least wet and you can take pictures with your camera or using your bracelet by scanning it. Important: when entering the Xensatorium you will have to turn everything off so that you do not ruin the experience for yourself.
After having enjoyed touring the Xensatorium, get ready for the adventure. Leave everything in your locker because this is the part you will get wet from head to toe. Remember that if you decide to bring the right accessories, you can take your camera with you to capture everything you are about to enjoy. Another recommendation is to pack water shoes so that it is easier for you to walk through the park.
Once you enter, you will find yourself in a large area with a colorful roof, called the Pinwheel. From here you can go everywhere, but this place also has hidden corners that are worth stopping by. Enter a passageway full of mirrors, a room full of colored designs, turn your head to a photo or become a giant in the optical illusion mirrors. Some of these pictures are only available by scanning your bracelet so make sure you take a lot of pictures to get the right one.
Inside the Pinwheel there is a shop where you can satisfy your appetite and thirst called the Xnack. In this store you will find everything, even natural colored fruit waters. What I personally recommend are the hamburger combos, taquitos or sandwiches. Since you only have five hours, I recommend you spend a maximum of 45 minutes at the Xnack to eat without a hurry. I almost forgot to mention; There are also vegetarian options.
I hope these simple tips will help you on your next trip to Xenses. Enjoy this experience to the fullest no matter if you are visiting alone.
