The etymological origin of the word SPA comes from "Salus Per Aquam", or healing through water. Just as the name indicates, Muluk Spa offers a holistic journey where you can flow to a renovation inspired by ancient traditions and harmony with the beautiful landscape of the Mayan Riviera. This mystical and natural sanctuary will bring a unique experience.
The Mexican shawl massage is a pre-Hispanic massage that originates from traditional Mexican medicine. Shawls are used to align the spine, ease back pain, and close hips, shoulders, and body aches by aligning the energy in the body. The therapist holds the weight of the patient with the shawl wrapped around the body under the arms to align the spine with light movements from side to side, stretching the legs, arms, chest, and hips, which release tension, accumulated emotions, help with the mental and emotional state, and enhance spiritual connection.
The ritual covers a full-body massage using hemp oil, ancestral techniques, and controlled stretching with Mexican shawls. In the most extended version of 105 minutes, you even get a facial, which completes the total renovation experience.
Among the most exciting characteristics of this massage is that it combines gourds, hands, acupressure, and a Hawaiian massage technique called Lomi Lomi, allowing a decontracting sensation in the body.
The Lomi Lomi massage, originating in Hawaii, has been practiced for centuries and is also known as the "massage of the Gods" for its ability to heal the body, mind, and soul. The goal is to release muscular tension to achieve a profound state of relaxation. It is also said that this ancient technique can improve blood circulation, emotional well-being, and spiritual health.
This ritual takes place at Hotel Xcaret México in the inlet area. The cabins are in front of the ocean, offering a fantastic view.
In this experience, you become the alchemist of your wellness, as it is a personalized experience where the therapist works with the patient to identify specific areas to focus on, modifying the pressure to alleviate each point of tension and combining different techniques with the patient's chosen fragrances from the Spa's apothecary.
Muluk Spa at Hotel Xcaret Arte, where the treatment is given, is also provided with its apothecary. Fragrances are prepared with natural, organic, and high-quality ingredients. The properties of these ingredients, along with a beautiful serenade from musical notes provided by a live concert - guitar, saxophone, or harp, create a holistic and rejuvenating experience.
The whole experience starts with the hydrotherapy circuit at Muluk Spa, explicitly designed to create a healing experience through the water to go deeper into the relaxation state.
The Magnifique eco-integrating architecture of Muluk Spa at Hotel Xcaret Arte offers a fantastic river view while enjoying the experience.
The ritual begins with a delicious foot exfoliation made with arnica, a plant with medicinal properties such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiseptic, and analgesic benefits.
Then, it continues with an 80-minute massage fusing the insignia movements of Muluk Spa with aromatherapy oils chosen, as in the massage before, at the apothecary from the place.
Aromatherapy's main goal for this treatment is to improve body and mind balance, ultimately bringing peace and well-being.
The complete experience takes around 100 minutes, although it is recommended to go through the hydrotherapy circuit before the ritual. It prepares the body and mind to enjoy the treatment and achieve deep relaxation.
This holistic journey takes place at Hotel Xcaret Arte; the caves, river, and natural surroundings allow a magnificent view during the visit.
A tailor-made massage is performed at a privileged La Casa de la Playa location. The experience starts with the hydrotherapy circuit that purifies the body through different stages, offering an incredible sea view.
Basalt stones are used for this treatment; they are volcanic stones often used for therapeutic massages. The density of these stones keeps the heat for enough time to convert them into the ideal tool that releases muscular tension at specific points and improves circulation.
To relieve chronic contractures and harmonize the body's energy, a tailor-made oil is prepared for the patient's skin type. Among the main ingredients for the base oil are juniper, ginger, orange, CBD, and almond oils.
Only guests staying at La Casa de la Playa can access the experiences at Muluk Spa in the hotel.
Once again, the experience is recommended to start with the hydrotherapy circuit, offering an incredible view of the marina at La Casa de la Playa.
The ritual consists of a relaxing session that improves the energetic balance of the patient through harmonic vibrations played on Tibetan bowls.
Tibetan bowls are the oldest musical instruments in history. However, there are different theories about their origins; their use as a healing and meditative instrument goes back thousands of years.
It is believed that the vibrations and sounds produced by Tibetan bowls can improve the balance of the chakras, calm the mind, and even elevate the body's vibration. This is the reason why they are considered instruments for healing and transformation.
The ritual is also accompanied by a therapeutic massage using personalized techniques from Muluk Spa and lasts for 110 minutes. It can be performed only for guests at La Casa de la Playa.
