All your senses will be mesmerized when you arrive at the Xcaret Arte Hotel, where the love for Mexico and its art converge.
This hotel was designed to make your stay an experience that will become an immersion in Mexican artistic expression. Since its opening in July 2021, it has hosted different exhibitions, and today I will tell you about some of them.
"La plaga" by Jacobo and María Ángeles.
In August 2021, from San Martin Tilcajete in Oaxaca, this sculptural exhibition arrived, made up of hand-ornamented divs carved in copal, which showed us an artistic view of insects with a double visual sense, confronting our notion of beauty and what we instinctively reject as unpleasant.
Fernando Andriacci
Oaxaca is not only rich in gastronomy, but it is also rich in art. In September 2021, peculiar divs of animals and nature arrived from Cuicatlan Oaxaca. The artist's zoomorphic representations transported us to another dimension, revealing his playful and surreal style.
"La trenza" by Malena Díaz
Photographer and plastic artist representing the state of Tlaxcala, Malena Díaz was present in the most recent edition of the Life and Death Festival with an exhibition that pays homage to women and corn; through this gallery, we were able to admire the beauty of the multicolored cobs of the community of Ixtenco.
"Arte textil" by Ignacio Netzahualcoyotl.
Motivated by the love for fibers, natural colors, textures, and iconographies, the textile artist and designer presented his work as a tribute to the textile processes characteristic of the municipality of Contla de Juan Cuamatzi in Tlaxcala. Through his pieces, he links art with nature and takes us on a journey that begins with the raw material in its purest state and ends in a garment that, among its fabrics, keeps the identity of his community.
"Rolls-Royce 1945" by Jacobo and María Ángeles
The masters honored us again with their presence, exploring their artistic freedom and experimenting with new materials; last November, they presented us with a classic car intervened by their creativity and delicate stroke, turning it into a masterpiece of Zapotec art that denotes absolute beauty.
Hotel Xcaret Arte is the ideal place for art lovers and those who have not yet discovered their love for it. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to connect with the artist that lives inside of you in one of the artistic workshops that are taught. You are probably a magnificent dancer, a great sculptor, or a talented painter.
I am sure you will be amazed by the beauty of the natural environment that frames it, and at the same time, you will enjoy a tribute to the artistic and cultural richness of Mexico that, without a doubt, will make you come back again and again.
