1. What is the difference between Xplor and Xplor Fuego? 

The adventure park with the highest zip-lines in Riviera Maya has six different activities that you can do during the day at Xplor park or at night at Xplor Fuego.

Both experiences are in the same place. Xplor park hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while the Xplor Fuego hours are from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Both Xplor park and Xplor Fuego have the same six different activities. If you want to enjoy the incredible view, the landscapes surrounding the park with the different shades of green of the Maya jungle, and the warm climate of the Mexican Caribbean, we recommend you visit Xplor park. If your thing is to feel the adrenaline with the sounds of the night and torches lit to illuminate the roads, then Xplor Fuego is for you.

2. What does my admission include? 

Your ticket to either park includes the six activities, unlimited food and drinks, safety equipment, and lockers.

Before starting the adventure, at the entrance, you will be given a helmet that you will use throughout your visit and the key to a locker where you can store your belongings (small and medium backpacks).

Xplor park has two zip-line circuits for you to enjoy with 8 towers each and fun landings. On the other hand, Xplor Fuego includes only one of the zip-line circuits, but with a special fire ring to star off the adventure.

Both admissions include two roads with different scenarios in the amphibious vehicles. Prepare to get dirty with mud and get wet with the waterfalls at the entrance of the caverns.

A unique activity in the Riviera Maya: the Hammock Splash. A zip-line with a hammock that lands in a refreshing cenote. Ideal for those who want to prepare before flying high.

For water lovers, there is the stalactite river with a long and short path that joins at an incredible waterfall from which you will not want to leave.

There are also rafts, an activity that tests your coordination and patience. You will love it, or you will want to finish soon the path you have chosen (long or short).

Last but not least, the Underground Expedition. Here you will travel 400 m of incredible scenery, and you will have to overcome different land and water obstacles.

You can recharge your batteries in the main restaurant Troglodita and the Oasis and Manantial juice and smoothie stations.

Troglodita opens at 11:00 a.m. and closes at 4:00 p.m. There you will enjoy an unlimited buffet. Oasis and Manantial open from 9:00 a.m. to provide you with different energizing juices, smoothies, and snacks that will allow you to start the adventure with a great attitude.

3. How can I make my purchase? 

Now, the most important thing, where and how can you buy your tickets? Xplor has different ways for you to do it with complete safety.  

Online

Enter our website and make your purchase safely. If you do it in advance you can get a discount. Also, you have the option of adding round trip transportation, and thus not worry about how you will get there.

Ticket Booth

You can make your purchase directly at the park’s ticket booth. We recommend that you arrive early to enjoy all the activities.

Sales Points

You will find Grupo Xcaret’s sales points in different shopping centers in Cancun and Playa del Carmen. The advisors will provide you with all the information to make your purchase.

4. Ways to present my purchase confirmation.

It will depend on the channel on which you made your purchase. Politics are different in each channel, for that reason is better you ask and present it as directed.

Remember that it is necessary to present an official ID. It can be a passport or driver’s license.

5. Where is the park located, and how can I get there? 

Xplor is in the Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo, 56 km from the Cancun International Airport, on Federal Highway 307, kilometer 282, 6 km south of Playa del Carmen, and 55 km north of Tulum. 

If you are in Playa del Carmen, the location is simple, since Xplor is neighbor to Xcaret and Xenses.

Add round trip transportation when making your purchase. Ask if your hotel is on the pick-up list or what are the closest departure points. If you decide to arrive by car, the park has free parking. You can also get there by public transportation from Cancun or Playa del Carmen. 

6. From what age can minors enter the park? 

Xplor is a familiar park. Everybody can enter and enjoy the facilities. However, the activities have restrictions for safety reasons.

Children from 5 years of age can carry out the activities as long as they are with an adult and comply with the measurements and weight required by the activity.

7. Do you have activities for children? 

Yes, there is the Children’s World. This place is next to Oasis, so you can rest and relax in a hammock with your favorite drink while your little ones have fun coloring and overcoming obstacles according to their age. 

8. Can I change the date of my visit or cancel it? 

Sometimes our plans can change. There are situations beyond our control, and we cannot attend our long-awaited visit. But good news, you’ve got options! 

Date Change

You can do it only 24 hours prior to the day of your visit. Trying to change it on the same day won’t be possible. Your admission will stay valid within one year from the date of purchase. 

Xplor does not close its doors due to rain or bad weather. Unless it is due to the threat of a hurricane or cyclone, in that case, you can apply the exchange policy. 

Purchasing cancellation

If you made your purchase with Xperience Packages and Passports, you can’t cancel it or have a refund.  

Reservations canceled more than two days before the date of your visit have a 10% charge for administrative expenses. From 2 to 0 days to your visit, or in case of a no-show, the admission will not be refundable. 

Cancellations will be reimbursed according to the payment method. 

It is necessary to be aware of the cancellation and change policies to make a responsible purchase

9. What kind of clothes and shoes should I bring? 

Being a water park with land and air activities, we recommend you bring a comfortable swimsuit since you will be in constant movement. Shorts and a shirt that you are willing to get wet. Water shoes or closed shoes that you will also not mind getting wet. I do not recommend wearing flip-flops or crocs because you will not be able to do the activities.

Remember to bring an extra change of clothes, because you will need them.

Finally, the park does not provide towels, so don’t forget yours!

10. What are the hours for lunch and breakfast? 

Upon entering the park, you can eat cookies and fruit or drink smoothies and juice at Oasis and Manantial. In Xplor park from 9:00 a.m. and in Xplor Fuego from 5:30 p.m.

Troglodita’s buffet opens at 11:00 a.m. and closes at 4:00 p.m. for Xplor park, and it opens at 7:30 p.m. and closes at 10:00 p.m. for Xplor Fuego.

It is necessary to consider these times to enjoy the food and still enjoy all the activities.

11. What should I do if I have special food requirements? 

Send an email before your visit date to serviciosalcliente@xcaret.com to request it, or on the day of your visit, go to one of our hosts at the entrance so they can support you. 

12. Can I bring my camera to Xplor? 

Most of our activities involve rivers, cenote landings, and waterfalls, so your camera could get wet. So, if you don’t have a waterproof camera, it’s not recommended to take it. Also, for safety reasons, gadgets such as a selfie stick are not allowed in most activities. With this in mind, your best option is to carry an adventure camera, one of those that you can secure directly to your helmet and have your hands free for anything

If you don’t have this kind of camera, don’t worry. Your helmet has a chip that will take photos during your visit. Remember to smile every time you find yourself in a photo spot. You can buy the photo package at an additional cost at the end of the day.

13. How can I purchase the photo package? 

You can do it from your arrival at the park by approaching one of the photo counters. The staff will provide you with the service. Just dedicate yourself to working on your best poses throughout the day whenever you come across one of the photo spots. 

However, if you decide to buy the package at the end of your visit, you can still approach the counters and the staff will help you. Your helmet chip will link all your photos whether you bought them in advance or at the end of your visit. 

Once purchased, you will have a ticket with a code that you will have to enter on the web page www.xcaret.photos/. Your photos will appear here for a set amount of time, available for you to download and save for posterity. 

14. Where can I store my personal belongings?

As we mentioned at the beginning, your admission includes a locker in which you can store belongings for two people. The size of this is for small and medium-size backpacks. 

15. Can a person in a wheelchair enter the park? 

Yes, however, most of the park is made with a stone floor, with slopes and wet surfaces, which make it difficult for people in wheelchairs to move around

16. What kind of sunscreen should I use? 

With your help, we will care for and preserve the ecosystem. When buying sunscreen and suntan lotion, make sure that it is biodegradable or chemical-free. If you don’t bring one from home, the park stores will have it available for sale. 

17. How long does it take to do all the activities? 

If you organize yourself well and arrive early, you can do all of them during the Xplor park and Xplor Fuego schedules. Some may take longer than others due to the difficulty level or the activity’s capacity.

18. Can I enter the rivers if I don’t know how to swim? 

Of course! In all water activities it’s necessary to use a life jacket, in addition to the fact that, in each part of the rivers and cenote, you will find lifeguards who will be watching for your safety. 

19. What is the minimum and maximum weight to go on the zip-lines? 

The minimum and maximum weight required is for the safety and comfort of all visitors. The minimum weight is 40 kg (88 lbs), and a maximum weight of 136 kg (300 lbs) is allowed. The circumference capacity of the harnesses around the waist is 120 cm and 65 cm around each leg. In the case of children, the harness must fit correctly and have a minimum height of 1.10 m, otherwise, they will not be able to carry out the activity. 

20. What is the length of underground rivers? 

Three activities take place in underground rivers. The first is swimming, with a river length of 400 m and an average temperature of around 24°C. The second is the rafts with a river length of 570 m. Finally, there is the Underground Expedition activity, which has different obstacles combined with caves, rivers, and jungle paths. The route is 740 m. 

21. Is a driver’s license required to drive amphibious vehicles? 

To drive amphibious vehicles, you must be of legal age and present a valid official ID that proves your age. Also, you need to have previous experience behind the wheel. These rules are for your safety and that of other visitors. Kids can make the journey as co-pilots or companions. 

22. Can I do the activities if I have heart or breathing problems? 

The Xplor park and Xplor Fuego activities have restrictions for people with heart and respiratory problems. As well as people with diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, hypertension, and claustrophobia. It is necessary to have conditions that allow you to climb many stairs and ramps. 

23. Are Xplor and Xplor Fuego recommended for the elderly? 

It takes a lot of physical effort and constant movement. If they are in good health, they can carry out the activities, but precaution is advised. 

24. Are there places where children and adults who do not participate in activities can rest? 

Yes! There are rest areas with hammocks and a clear water pool. Use these areas to recharge energy with a good smoothie or juice. At Xplor Fuego, you can rest in front of a campfire. 

25. How many times do you recommend I visit the park? 

We recommend you visit it every time you feel like an adventure, but if it is not possible to do so, then visit it at least twice, so you can enjoy the experience of Xplor park and Xplor Fuego. You will not regret it!
