1.- Isla Contoy

This is a very well protected small virgin island located north from Isla Mujeres. You will be astonished by its nature and turquoise waters. A pretty quiet place to enjoy nature. Here, you can find the Ixlaché Coral Reefs and snorkel with thousands of colorful fishes, sea turtles and even whale sharks and rays because of the many nutrients and plankton of the water. How to get there? You must do one hour and a half boat trip departing from Cancun or Puerto Juarez.

2.- Isla Mujeres

All around the island, you will find great spots for snorkeling and relaxing on its beautiful beaches. But if you want to live an amazing experience exploring the underwater sea life, you can visit the Subaquatic Museum (MUSA for its Spanish abbreviation). Swim around four hundred sculptures with corals: the perfect scenario to find the wonderful colors of fish and starfish that inhabit the Mexican Caribbean waters.

3.- Cozumel

Cozumel is the third largest island in México, and it’s the main spot for travelers looking for the best beaches to swim and snorkel in the Riviera Maya. You can find at Palancar Reefs a very good place if you are looking for all levels of snorkeling: based on the depth and difficulty to reach the coral formations. It is located on the southwest side of the island inside the Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park.

4.- Xel-Ha

In this Natural Wonder, you can snorkel and snorkel and snorkel again, enjoy the perfect scenarios all around you and all the sea life under the water. Swim along this amazing river, in the inlet and the caves,  get to know all the different and colorful species that inhabit here. A recommendation to have the better snorkeling experience at this paradise is to begin your journey early in the morning, around 9 am, this to avoid crowds and have a relaxing and delightful experience. It is also a good chance to watch more species at these hours.
