2.- Choose a spot

Sometimes if you take a tour of the open sea you need to jump off a boat into the water and this can be hard and scary for first-timers. If you combine that fear with inexperience about breathing through a snorkel and using a mask, this moment can become a less fun first experience.
Be sure to explore enough to find a right spot, that it has lots of fish and marine life to see. If you stay in a dull place for your first time, you will get bored and desperate. 3. Understand your gear
The snorkel gear consists of a face mask, a tube and a pair of fins. Let’s start with the problematic part: the fins. We suggest you to try them and make sure they aren’t too loose or too tight. Don’t put them on until you are in the water, because it is tough to walk with them, specially through the sand!. The snorkel tube consists of a tube that you have to put in your mouth and breathe through, remember to relax and breath usually. As for the mask, make sure that the strap is just below the broadest part at the back of your skull and ensure it is tight enough so that no air or water may slip in through it.

4. Relax and breathe slow
The more you are able to relax, the better you will be able to float and the better control you have over your movement in the water. If you breathe slowly, this will help you with the relaxation, and you will be able to navigate through the water a lot better. On the other hand, if you get stressed, you may sink if you are not wearing a vest. Stay a few minutes in the same spot just practicing the breathing, it will help you a lot.
5. Be careful and take care of you

6. Take care of the sea
Finally, take care of the sea also. Don’t touch corals, fish or marine life. Use a biodegradable sunscreen that will not harm sea life.
