1.- San Felipe.

A small fishermen village is what you will find once you get there, surrounded by colorful wooden houses and the classic smell of homemade seafood, your visit will be an unforgettable experience. 2.- Telchac.

In the Mayan language its name means “the necessary rain” and it’s located a few kilometers away from Motul, Yucatan. Due to its proximity to the Laguna Rosa you will find several species of birds to be watched from the Uaymitún viewer. It’s a place where nature and peace will be part of your journey while you discover all the beautiful places such as the archaeological site of Xcambó during your visit to this part of the coast of Yucatan.


3.- Dzilam Bravo.

This town is located 85 kilometers away from Merida. Once you get here, you realize that fishing and ecotourism are the main activities for the people who live here, the fishermen offer tours for snorkel, swimming to visit other attractions nearby like the Elepeten lagoon and Xbuya Ha waterhole. Here you can visit Punta Arenas to discover the Mayan archaeological sites of Xalau, Tamba, Petul and Xcan to take a little journey to the past, and if you want to visit other place go to Las Bocas where the sea and the river meet in a breathtaking view.

4.- Progreso

Due to its location very near Merida City, this small fishermen village became a large city in the coast of Yucatan, where you can find all the services you will need in your vacations. This place is the perfect for water sports fans, you can practice windsurf, kayak, snorkel, swimming and fishing tours across the beach and nearby places to enjoy the flora and fauna. Don’t forget to go to the traditional places to taste the food like “El Toro”, a restaurant with the best food in town.



Home and sanctuary of pink flamingos, this natural site is considered one of the most beautiful places in Yucatan. Nature will be your guide to adventure and to discover the beauty of an almost virgin land and beach full of exuberant vegetation and located 90 kilometers west from Merida City. Here you will find small cooperatives of fishermen that offer several tours for bird watching and snorkeling.

6.-Ría Lagartos. 

This estuary is known as the Natural Reserve of Ría Lagartos too, home to 250 birds species such as pink flamingos, whiter heron and pelicans. Due to its proximity to Las Coloradas, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of pink waters where sea salt is extracted. If you like water sports, here you will find tours for snorkeling, fishing, bird watching and a one of a kind nocturne crocodile tour in which you will observe these incredible creatures across the lagoon. To get there you must take the Tizimin – Motul road and follow the signs to this paradise.
