Hey, traveler friends! 👋🏼
We know how exciting it is to count down the days until your visit to Xcaret. If you’ve already booked your flights and your vacation time is approved, it’s time to move on to the planning stage so you can make the most of your day in paradise.
In this blog, we’ll help you feel confident and well-prepared with everything you need to know before you arrive. We’ll also share tips to help you choose your activities, highlight must-see experiences, and organize every detail of this special trip.
Let’s start with the important details you need to know before arriving.
If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, you can do so at xcaret.com. We recommend checking the Promotions tab or buying in advance for a discount.
If you’re looking for comfort and a more complete experience, consider the Xcaret Plus admission, which includes a buffet meal, lockers, and snorkeling gear, or go all-in with Xcaret Total, which includes one optional activity.
Xcaret is located in Playa del Carmen. You can get there by car, public transportation, or with Xcaret’s transportation service (you can add it when booking your tickets).
Super simple!
Pack your backpack with this checklist in mind:
Forgot something? Don’t worry. You’ll find souvenir shops throughout the park with all the essentials you need. And we’re sure you won’t be able to resist bringing a little something home. You’ll find towels, backpacks, clothing, accessories, jewelry, mugs, plush toys, caps, and more. You’ll fall in love with the store!
Now comes one of the most important parts.
Xcaret is filled with attractions and things to do, and sometimes we want to rush through everything to make sure we don’t miss a thing.
While it’s great to try to see it all, you can also plan your day by prioritizing the experiences that interest you the most. Or if you prefer, just let the day flow and discover the park as it unfolds. Both approaches are perfectly valid ways to enjoy Xcaret.
Our goal is to help you avoid feeling overwhelmed trying to do everything, and instead enjoy the experience your way. We promise—you’ll have a great time no matter your pace.

There are many kinds of travelers: couples, families, those with little ones, and people reuniting for special occasions. The good news is that Xcaret has something for everyone.
No matter your preferences, you’ll be amazed, moved, and inspired by the richness of Mexican culture. Get ready for an unforgettable experience!
Here are some suggestions based on your travel style:
Walking through Xcaret’s nature trails will be a unique experience.
Right from the start, you can admire the flamingo parade, be amazed by the macaws, and explore the Pre-Hispanic Village. Then, connect with wildlife in the Aviary and Butterfly Pavilion. Later, unwind swimming in the underground river or enjoy a peaceful raft ride through Río Paraíso. End your day relaxing on the beach or in the natural pools, visit the turtle area, and be wowed by marine life at the Coral Reef Aquarium.
if you crave adventure, Xcaret has optional experiences you’ll love.
Have a stingray encounter, swim with nurse sharks, feel the thrill of speed on the Adrenalina speedboat, or go on an unforgettable underwater walk with Sea Trek.
These activities are packed with excitement—perfect for thrill-seekers looking for speed, heights, and adrenaline-pumping moments.
Start by visiting the Pre-Hispanic Village, then make a stop at Cafexito and Pan de la Casa—we recommend trying at least two sweet breads, all handmade and delicious. (You’ll thank us later!)
While you’re there, watch artisans at work, join workshops, and enjoy traditional dance performances at the Open Forum. The white and black color routes are closest to these experiences.
Afterward, visit the Henequenera Hacienda and explore the treasures inside the Mexican Folk Art Museum.
If your goal is to unwind and go with the flow, Xcaret has the perfect rhythm for you.
Chill at the beach, soak in the calm waters of the cove, snorkel, or take your time floating through the underground rivers.
Want an extra dose of relaxation? Visit Xpá Xcaret, where massages, aromas, and natural sounds will melt your stress away.
You can divide your day into three parts:
We recommend starting with the white route—it’s less crowded in the morning, so you can stroll peacefully. Explore the cemetery, the Pre-Hispanic Village, the Aviary, and the Butterfly Pavilion. Then cool off in the river or relax at the beach. Wrap up your day with amazing shows like the equestrian performance
No matter what your plan is, there’s one thing you absolutely can’t miss to end your day on a high note:
Xcaret México Espectacular, a thrilling show that takes you on a journey through 500 years of history, music, and tradition.
✅ Make a list of must-dos before your visit. Check out or Xcaret’s social media for inspiration and to choose the activities and shows that excite you the most.

✅ If you’re visiting with small children, you can bring a stroller.
✅ Take frequent breaks to hydrate and protect yourself from the sun (remember to use biodegradable sunscreen).
✅ Take advantage of the photo package and capture memories with your wristband—there are photo spots all over the park!
✅ Take time to explore peaceful trails and disconnect from the outside world.
✅ Chat with the visitor assistance guides—they can help you find your way and recommend attractions.
We hope these tips serve as a helpful guide to make the most of your visit. Remember, in the end, you decide how to experience the park and which activities suit you and your family best.
We’re sure your visit will be unforgettable, and you’ll leave with a heart full of amazing memories and inspiration.
