Break the routine

And connect with nature

Living in Cancun has its privileges, as everytime I need to get away to disconnect from the world and the daily routine, I can enjoy the sunset on the beach, swim on the ocean or just feel the sand on my feet to relax while I connect with nature.

A few months ago I decided that every weekend, I was going to try a different activity that would allow me to relax and connect with nature, after my 40 hours work during the week.  Since I started doing this, I felt more relaxed and focused during the week.

I would like to share with you these activities that I have been able to do that I am sure you would love:

1.- Swim in a cenote (sink-hole)

The Yucatan Peninsula has more than 6,000 cenotes, a real gift from nature that you must visit at least once in your life. Swimming in its water is revitalizing, the water temperature is fresh as it is water that comes from the underground.

2.- Camping

The best spectacle your eyes will ever see is a starry sky during a camping night. Get away from the city lights, and you’ll see a sky as you have never seen before. If you are lucky, you might see a shooting star.

I was able to see one of the most beautiful sunrises of my entire life when camping in Bacalar, Q.Roo. An image that would stay in my mind for my whole life.

3.- Rowing

If physical activities are your thing, you should try rowing. This will allow you to see things that only few are able to see. You could try paddling, kayak or a canoe. Rowing is an excellent activity that will enable you to connect with nature in a fun way.

 4.- Yoga

An excellent activity that will balance your mind and body. And what a better way to do this than doing it in a park or at the beach to get in touch with nature.

5.- Temazcal

Therapeutic and relaxing. The heat from the temazcal mixed with the smell of the aromatic essences allows your body to detox and purify. To end the experience the best way, you can refresh in freshwater.
