Party Like A Mexican

Looking for the best spots to party

The Riviera Maya is a touristic area of 87 miles, located at Quintana Roo state coast. As you may know, throughout this area you can find resorts, villages, natural eco parks, cenotes and all kind of different places to stay, eat or activities to do in a regular vacation plan. But what happens when your vacation plans include exploring the local nightlife?

Allow us to be your guide through the best places where you can party like Mexicans do. Here you will discover from local bars and nightclubs to beach clubs. Don’t let the party stop! Let’s take this trip from north to south.

Xoximilco Cancun

If you haven’t met the Mexican spirit yet,  you are at the right place. Everything about Xoximilco screams “fiesta and tequila!” Since you arrive, you will have the chance to eat esquites or chill a little bit with traditional games at the feria before you step up into an authentic trajinera to begin the journey through the canals. Now it’s time to get this party started: during this course you will be dancing to mariachis, marimba and norteños’ best tunes, so everyone can show their best moves. There is no chance that you can’t say “salud” with your trajinera party friends. Also, on this night, you will have the chance to try delicious dips, exotic entrees and typical dishes like tortillas or chicken with mole (a chocolate sauce). In few words, there is no place in Riviera Maya like Xoximilco to enjoy the Mexican folklore with beer  and tequila. It is a unique experience, full of colors and festivity that party experts won’t let pass by. Have I mentioned that it has an open bar with tequila and beer?Address: Carretera Federal 307 Cancun – Puerto Morelos.

Bara Bara

A local bar at Puerto Morelos, the northern part of the Riviera Maya. Speaking of music, here you will find from live jams of reggae, funk and soul to the finest selection of house music with international and local DJs. If you want to start the night with a couple of drinks they can offer beer, obviously, but the specialties are martinis and cocktails that will warm up your dancing moves.

Address: Rojo Gomez Avenue #3, Puerto Morelos.

Coralina Daylight Club

Our next pick is a beach club and one of the latest additions to the party life at Playa del Carmen. It’s also a good place to party all day long, as it’s considered a daylight club, so be prepared because once you are there, you will want to stay dancing and having drinks for hours, regardless of the time, with amazing dance and house music. They also offer private tents with champagne or a very good menu with sushi, light meat, sandwiches and quality entrees.

A good thing about Coralina is that it is located at Mamitas Beach so you won’t miss bikinis and a very good upbeat atmosphere having a good time at the deck or at the pool while enjoying an ocean view. A good recommendation is to book your visit because they have limited occupancy.

Address: Street 26 and the beach.

La Santanera

With the energy and the party mood full charged, it’s time to move to one Playa del Carmen most famous clubs: La Santanera; it is located one street away from the main club street. What makes Santanera special is its different floors, each one with a different party mood. The first floor is where you warm up with a cocktail or dinner. If you go up you will find electronic beats and a dance floor where you will perform your best moves close to the DJ in turn. Get upstairs and take a breath: you will still be able to dance while talking with your friends and enjoying the city night view. Have we mentioned the remain open until 5 am?. Yes, this is the place you want to go if you feel like partying until dawn.

Address: 10th street between avenue 10 and 5

Batey Mojito and Guarapo Bar

Tulum has a very nice environment on its own, so to live a unique experience within this beautiful place vibe, you should visit this Bar. Here, a Volkswagen Beetle is converted to prepare a large variety of mojitos with fresh sugar cane, a house special. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? They also offer a dinner menu so it became the perfect place to listen to live jazz, soul or reggae jam sessions. Have a good time enjoying the ambiance of Tulum and its friendliness.

Address: Centauro Sur Street, Tulum.

Mezcalinna

This suggestion is on us, we give you a plus one to finish the list. We are going to the heart of the Riviera Maya’s nightlife: the 12th street in Playa del Carmen. But behold: we are not inviting you to a common nightclub. Follow us to a bar where tourists and locals dance to electronic beats and enjoy mezcal and beer. They have different mezcal types so be sure you give them a try to find your favorite. The decor is quite original, with mexican quotes, sayings and mirrors: you will feel in an underground party.

Address: 12th street between 1st avenue and the beach

We hope this list help you plan a great time discovering new, fun and fully festive local places on your next visit to Riviera Maya.
