The Ceramic Workshop is located in Mayan Village of Xcaret, next to the Clay Workshop and in front of the main entrance of the Cemetery.
The Workshop doesn’t have a fixed price, it depends on the piece you want to paint. In order to learn to paint, you just have to choose a ceramic piece, and the instructor will provide you with all the material you need. The prices are between $50 and $200 Mexican pesos.

Once you have your ceramic piece, the next step is choosing the paint colors you will use. There’s a great variety of colors, most of which are traditionally used in Mexican handicrafts. The instructor will provide you with the appropriate brush for each section you are going to paint.
Little by little and with a lot of patience, you will learn to paint a beautiful craft. It doesn’t matter if you have no previous experience, it’s a relaxing activity that you can do alone or in the company of your family.
Tip: if someone in your family doesn’t want to do an aquatic activity such as the Underground River, for example, instead of waiting for several hours in the hammocks, come to the Ceramic Workshop to create a unique piece.
Once you have finished painting your piece of pottery, the instructor will ask you to leave it with him for about an hour or two so that the detail and varnish it. Once it dries, you can return to pick it up and you will have a piece like the one in the next photo, beautiful! If you prefer, you can write your name or signature inside.
